Room for Wonder was my first major exhibition in Asia, and I was deeply grateful to bring this project to Seoul at Groundseesaw, one of South Korea’s leading contemporary art spaces. In the exhibition, I brought elements of the street into the gallery, transforming road signs, emergency boxes, and familiar urban objects into emotional and participatory artworks. At the heart of the show were two monumental interactive installations, Falling from a Dream – Icarus and Walking on a Dream – Daedalus, inspired by the myth of Icarus and Daedalus. Visitors were invited to write their greatest failures and their greatest dreams directly onto the works, turning each piece into a collective emotional archive. Alongside the exhibition, I also created new street works across Seoul, including pieces written entirely in Korean, to speak directly to the city and its people.
